PS ji,

You guys do so many shows but all of them are too poor in quality. If I am to rate your shows, I would rate them 3 out of 10. There is no good organization, people are walking or talking while artists are performing. Very poor MC. It is always too long and boring. Same phulbari club NYO and INLS every time and I am sick and tired of seeing same damn faces again and again and let me be honest with you, we pay $15 - $20 per show and see the same annoying faces of phulbari, manish P.... same style... oh you name it. It really is annoying.

Suggestion for you.

1. get rid of phulbari participation
2. get rid of manish p
3. bring new style of performance (new.... think.... hard what might be of interest to the audiences)
4. Have at least 20 volunteers with name badges and make them work and not just sit around.
5. arrange and divide work for the volunteers. Make them enforce all the rules and regulations. Make them warn people who talk and walk during the performance....
6. Do not make a show more than 2 hours long.(YOu really need to work on this. this is badly needed)
7. Get input from others how to improve your shows.

Let me tell you one thing, your show on the 4th of july last year (YUCK!!!!!) was disgusting....

Hope you will take it positively.

I agree 100% with Mohan Gopal ji. I think someone has to ban Manish P from going to the stage anywhere in US. Its the same scene here in New York. Same people twice a year on stage for 30 bucks a ticket. I think I'll puke next time if I see these artist singing in a bad music system.

Goredai ji,

This really tells how good we Nepalese are in organizing events, or managing something for that matter. No decipline, no knowledge of how to effectively manage and in light of all these, how can we expect all those Gawar (gobar bhariyeko dimag in Nepali politicians) moron to do better in nepal?

Most Nepalese cannot manage their own home let alone an organization or country for that matter. Forget nepal ko bikash for the next 100 years...

Humm...it is great to see some feedback...thank you for taking your valuable time to express your feelings and views regarding the cultural events in the DC metro area...

I would like to encourage others (Specially DC Metro community members) to provide constructive feedback and suggestions (positive or negative) without being too personal if possible.

I will make sure your feedback/suggestions posted here gets to all DC metro organizations. I am sure they are eager to hear your feedback and improve future shows.

We (NYO, Phoolbari and INLS) are trying our best to make this "Entertainment Night 2003" show best quality and well organized using our limited experience, resources and budget. With your suggestions, encouragements and participation, I am sure we will be successful. Hope to you on Feb. 16th at GMU.

Nepali Brothers and Sisters,

If you want to get a few pointers on how to put up a great show, then get in touch with the Tamu Samaj of Boston. I attended their Lhosar party recently, it was fantastic! Great singing, great dancing, great food, excellent hospitality, authentic Nepali atmosphere...and all of this free!! Can you believe they did that in the U$ ? So, the lesson is:

naya na paye Gorkha janu,
party chalaunu cha bhane Gurung sanga siknu!!

I also know of a old Hindu proverb:

"Raaj chalana, bhoj lagana, saab ki bas ki baat nahin."

Dear DC organizers,
It was nice to hear that DC community is organizing Nepali cultural program in Feb. Keep up the good work. On the other hand, we have heard positive /negative comments too. I do agree with those suggestions pelted at you. Please listen to them.

I have heard a lot about Tamu sajha in Bostan and Koseli Nite in Texas. We can learn a lot from them. For Tami sajha you can contact Mr. Sunder Gurung and for Koseli nite, please contact Mr Sarendra Nakarmi.

I attended Koseli Nite on 28th of December, 2002 and no doubt it was blast. It was the best cultural program I have ever seen in US ( and in Nepal too) soil. I have heard that they are selling video tape just for $10. It's worth buying it and you can learn a lot from them. On top of that, money goes to HEN (Health and Education for Nepal). They are helping kids back home for their good health and better education. For more info, visit thier site: www.HEnepal.org.

Last but not least, good luck in your show in Feb.

Thanks,
Koseli Nite fan
