There is a Dragon Coach Service (plus others) that runs from China town in DC to China town in NY and also to Philadelphia and Boston. Cost of tickets from DC to NY one way is $20 and round is $35. Bus leaves everyday from DC at 2 am and 3:30 am from 610-I Street, NW DC 20001. From New York the bus leaves at 8 am (except Wed, Thurs) and 5 pm and 6 pm every day from 88 E. Broadway, 114-15, NY NY 10002.

Tel for DC = 202-326-0892

Tel for NY = 212-227-5024 & 212-925-1886

Originally Korean and Chinese community started this service to meet the traveling needs of workers in NY and DC however this has proved to be convenient for low budget student and other travelers who needs to be in NY by morning. Few friends have already used this service and are extremely delighted by it. Just be there on time with cash and get on the bus. Enjoy the Chinese/Koean movie and save some money..

Cool Sally! Hey I was thinking of visiting Boston and NY, but at this rate, I am probably unwelcome there:)
sally Posted on 17-Jan-03 11:42 AM

But you see, the other advantage of this bus is that anyone who takes it from DC is so exhausted by the time they reach their destination that they're unable to argue with any stray Sajhapure they meet, and are the picture of agreeable docility, which makes them loved by all ...

Plus, you fall asleep and don't spend any money in NY/Philly/Boston!

Such a deal.

Sally,
Thank you! Very useful information. Am really sick and tired of driving between NY and DC. It is rather a very expensive trip if you are driving by yourself. The toll itself is outrageous! 9 friggin' bucks to cross the Verrazzano...you believe that? Plus the toll on Delaware bridge, this bridge, that bridge, Jersey turnpike and bleep and bloop and blaap...and add that to Maryland State trooper's $180 speeding ticket. Doesn't friggin' worth it.

I might give friendly dragon coach a call next itme. Gotta have a good sound proof head set however. Too much Korean and Chinese echoes can seriously make you lose control.

Look for me in dragon coach!

James Bond..LOL!

Poonte, 7 bucks ..9 bucks ..what the heck is the difference yaar? My point is that its' too darn expensive. And I don't commute to NY every week. A trip every now and then, that's all. But I'll remember to give you a holler on my next trip? Should I expect a nice comfy luxury sedan?
