village voice,

that was Nov. 1998. ah! its been more than 4 years now, but heard that city has changed a lot in recent days. Audi cars and Vokswagen taxis have taken over bicycles, Gap clothes are now the official clothes, and BIg Mac and Big Mao are discussing business strategies.

NK: Now, about your comment about relating. I guess we have to talk about this over whatever you drink and whatever I drink in some hip or not so hip cafe/bar when I come to good ol' kathmandu.

Sounds good. So, when are you going to be in good ol' Kathmandu? Anytime soon?
VillageVoice Posted on 01-Feb-03 08:53 AM

If, tks. wouldn't expect anything less of a new China--at least the mega cities.

It was cold, very cold,
One early morning in January –
A long, long time ago.
(or was it just yesterday?)
Under the street lights of my home town,
Snow falling on lashes and on wispy
Strands of your hair.
You dusted off the snow,
That had fallen in my coat collar
Before you pulled my face
With your ice cold hand
Towards your lips

It was early, very early
People were still lying on park benches
Bundled up and dogs on their heels –
Shivering.
My coffee had made a splash
On the sidewalk.
A brown spot ,
Not unlike old blood.
Your cold hands did nothing
To My frozen cheeks
A chilled, raspy voice
Called out -
“Taxi?”

It was cold, very cold,
Remaining coffee undrinkable,
Taxi already gone,
Snow – relentless.
Homelessness still abound,
Dogs still waiting,
Ah! So duty bound!

A cold day in January,
Your icy hands holding my
dead cheeks,
Smile nowhere to be found,
Disappeared a long, long time ago,
Somewhere in that December.

Again, It was February
snow grows even higher
I was in illusion like last year
but you seems like in the first year.

Here comes a may
after a long delay ,
with some changes in a sunny day.
Save my heart before decay
in the early morning pray.- rajunpl

rajunpl, thanks for the wish. but, i must say with your added-on the soul of my poetry is lost. that was not what I had in my mind when i wrote this poem. not everything has to have to have a happy ending, no? Nice try though.

ops! got ya
Keta ho I can't stop my feelings that came across me when i was in scotland.Don't say that it took you two consecutive day after all.Nop,It was long ago let see how it goes.

Dusk with the ale
and dawn with the snow
Days were pretty windy
but were so nice and slow

Spend a night in cosy Inn
with a chance of once-in-a-lifetime
she steer me,I was ignorent
She was gone ,when tolerent

The night were stormy
you and i know
Open your soul
after slamming the door
but never compare pound with Rs. anymore

Fall in passion with highland
with an immense thought
had a so sad journey when
back with heart full of drought.

Fact or fiction?
NK Posted on 26-Feb-03 09:08 PM

rajunpl, I am back. you know i need a break from Sajha here and there. I just got back from a long needed vacation. And yes Tulum (Mexico) was beatiful, just in case if you were wondering. Besides, I have mentioned earlier, I think, that I lose interest in the thead I originated after a while. ke garney , attention deficit syndrome bhannu paryo.
I might post a few poems, stay tuned. I find the line 'Rs. with dollar' a bit out of place. It was like kirkire dhunga in chamal. if you know what i mean. [and please excuse my suggestion if you did not need it]

paramendra, was that question for me orfor our poet laurette rajunpl?
VillageVoice Posted on 26-Feb-03 11:40 PM
