Hello. With some trepidation, I would like to announce that Li Onesto will be giving a talk and slide show in Boston on Monday, February 24th. I am posting if here because I know many Boston-area Nepali folks read this. I've helped to arrange this event not to support the Maoists, but to provide a venue for dialogue. The cease-fire seems an appropriate time to work towards bridging the huge chasms between the "sides" in the conflict. I hope this event will provide a time and space for people of different viewpoints to speak their minds and ask questions of others. Where: Lucy Parsons Center -- a bookstore and community center -- at 549 Columbus Avenue (near Mass Ave). (Orange Line use Mass Ave T stop -- Green Line use Symphony T stop). When: Monday, February 24, 7:30pm How much? free Why? I hope to see peace in Nepal someday. Also, if anyone is interested in seeing "The Killing Terraces", the 1999 documentary by Dhurba Basnet, I can show it in the bookstore again sometime. I am showing it tonight at 7 pm there.
