Do we want to win? should we? Do we have a case here? I know the court will say whatever it has to say but what do say?

Any thoughts from kanoonbids as well as other buddhijibis?

SC verdict on petition seeking territorial retrieval on March 11

The Supreme Court on Thursday announced that the verdict on the writ petition seeking recovery of Nepal's territory lost after the signing of the Sugauli treaty with the then British India in 1815 would be given on March 11.

Two writ petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court, both of which have claimed that after the signing of the 1950 Treaty of Peace and Friendship with India, all the former treaties have been annulled as per clause 8 of the 1950 treaty.

On the basis of the this very argument, the petitioners have asked the court to issue orders to the government to retrieve all the territory which Nepal lost to the then British government in India. Following the signing of the Sugauli treaty, Nepal had lost a substantial portion of its national territories in the south, east and west to the then British-India government.

That's what my question is. What do we want and why? we are not even able to protect what we got...what do we want what they have for and why do we want?

May be I am missing somtething that's why I wanted to know other people's input.

If the petitioners win, it will create unnecessary burden on the government to claim those territories. If the petitioners lose, our progenies will probably lose right 'in distant future' to claim those territories. In both cases, we will lose.

Deepji, you are right, it is an unrealistic case.
