I love classic rock, so there I was listening to this station while driving to work in the morning, and I was not so thrilled to hear the Boss's "Born in the USA", especially considering how sick to the stomach I feel even when I still see US flags in the cars and all the patriotic decors as if the whole of America is marching to the same beat (no puns) and I'm left alone.I should mention, I am aware of what America, albeit in its ideals stand for and the sheer sense of unquestioned capitalistic patriotism with which a lot of us try to think we can compliment that ideal with. Anyhow, back to the classic rock stuff, and later in the station, driving back home thinking of Daal bhat tarkari dinner and there blurts out our Bob Seger Dai,"..New Youk is just a little lost soul,....if I get outta here, I'm going to Kathmandu...,its a stretched out live jam going on for like 7 minutes, sounds unpatriotic, but patriotic only way I can be( and the DJ) in a however I can be sense. But wait a minute, am I not from that Kathmandu ( leave DJ out)?, a displaced self here in DC??,
Gaud!!, what am I supposed to do?, so I put on the Bootleg of The Dead, and the lyrics just stating..."Go back home where you belong...Dont you runaway no more....."
Crazy no??, Think I've lost the appetite by now?, Yup!!!!!!!!!!
