How many of you have experienced what scientists call sleep paralysis? Basically, without going into scientific details, what happens is that at the instant of falling asleep or waking up, you are unable to move or talk, and you feel like you're flying. You also hear some sort of background noise. Some people also see ghost, alien, satan or some sort of evil force. It has happened to me, and it is pretty frightening. Felt like someone was trying to strangle me. I felt so helpless. If anybody has experienced this, I would like to hear from him/her.

I can't say that I have had such experiences but the following web site has a lot of information for people who report it. It says some 25-30% report having had such an event. Keeping a regular schedule, reducing stress, not exercising before sleep, including not exercising the mind, and sleeping regular hours are considered some therapies for relief. http://watarts.uwaterloo.ca/~acheyne/S_P2.html
