Mr. Buddhi Narayan Shrestha is one of Nepal's
foremost land surveyors who has done research
on Nepal's land and mapping issues in collaboration with, among others, the Boston Museum Science ko director Brad Washburn and others.

In the late spring of 1999, Mr. Shrestha had visited Boston. At the time, he gave a presentation on Nepal's borders, especially on the disputed Kala-pani issue, to the interested members of the GBNC.

While visiting Boston and Virginia/DC at the time, Mr. Shrestha, a retired civil servant, spent his time poring over rare, old Nepal-related materials and maps at many American libraries, including the formidable Library of Congress in DC.

Mr. Shrestha's interests and hard work seem to have paid off. That's because his much-awaited book called "Nepal ko see.maa.naa", based on the materials he had dug up in American libraries, has just been published in Kathmandu.

Many expect the book to play an importan role in Nepal to re-examine Nepal's relations with both India and China.

Here's wishing Mr. Shrestha all the best.
And congratulations on his efforts!!

On a personal note, Mr.Shrestha's ties to Boston are strong, for his daughters earned their Master's degrees in pharmacy here, while his son-in-law is a student of dentistry in the area.

Congrats, all!!
