Khimberly and Adirondack, I am moving to Upstate New York (Westchester County). Since Khimberly is an old resident, may be he knows if we all will be nearby. Are we? Any body else?

Lekhak, Westchester county is not really "upstate" when I have to tell you that I am presently surfing Sajha from a place 30 miles away from the Canadian border:) Khim, Millbrook seems to be midway between Albany and NYC, close to Poughkeepsie..eh ? If you gonna hang around there till August, we can definitely meet up and chill around 8th street in NYC on weekends..and lekhak, you will of course be da man ( or may be the dudesss..;)

Dude, U're right. Westchester is not a legitimate Upstate but that's what we refer it from down here at New Jersey. And if u check it out, Poughkeepsie is just next to Putnam county which is next to Westchester. It is 25 minutes drive and 7 stops away by Metro North.

Dat's right, Lekhak. No one here at sajha is proabably from a more legitimate upstate NY town than myself :)[unless he is she from Canada!] Anyone familiar with GE's power plant in Schenectady?

Adirondack, I am from Albany, Rensselaer to be precise. Albany downtown is like 2 minutes drive from my house. I used to live at Schenectady a year ago. Quite familiar with the place. GE power plant is like 30 min's drive from my house, depending upon my mood while I am driving and the state troopers. Bunch of places to hangout in Albany -- Capital of NY. Let me know what do you wanna know!! Might be a help!!!

For true(?!) New Yorkers "Upstate" starts from Yonkers. I asked them what do they think of Westchester county (forget others), the answer was "middle of nowhere". He he. Must admire these New Yorkers. :)

Infact, Albany is Central New York, but as for the talk goes, ppl from NYC refers Wechester, Rutland and Putnam Counties as Upstate, but media, goverment and all other ways of communication referrs all the other counties north from New York City as Upstete New York.

PP are you serious? I will be doing a co-op at GE's power systems in Schenectady this fall and just wanted to know if that small town had a life(!)..but it seems it does since the Pujari himself lives nearby.. I am sure we can hit the bars every other night in Rensselaer/ Albany..:) Btw, do u go to RPI? Later.
