Tupee record
Yam Narayan Bhandari,54, a resident of Fidim is trying to get into the record books by growing the longest tupee.
"I want to die by getting into the national record books by growing my tupee. This is my last wish," Bhandari told Gorkhapatra.
Bhandari started growing a tupee the same day he entered government service at the age of 20.
His hair tuft is now nearly eight feet long; carrying it on his head is not inconvenient, he says.
One foot of the hair snapped, to his disappointment about one year ago, when he fell off a tree while collecting foliage for his cows.
Bhandari,a brahmin, tucks the tupee under a cap unnoticed.
