"OM"
PHILOSOPHY OF THE SACRED SYLLABLE "OM"
The syllable om is the supreme Brahma in the form of eternal light.
The almightly father,the Higher self,offers religion,wealth,work and emancipation is in the form of Om which the meditate constantly with a prolonged sound.And to such an OM form of Higher Self.
Well an attainment of the knowledgeof the long syllable om will offer a full protection in life and help gain feeling of cosmic powers to meet the supreme goal of life easily.The life of a man,who thinks,studies and meditates constantly about Om and who lives inspiration of the power of Om,is entirely permeated with Om.
Om is the best name of the Universal Spirit.Although it is made up of one syllable,it has encompassed such an extensive and large meaning that all the other names appear narrow and less important in significance before it.Om represents both the aspects of Brahma's formless existence having no quality as well as theform with quality,and a regular practitioner or devotee,who always thiks about it and pronounces it properly,will easily be united with Universal Soul.

Formula- E=Mc(sq.),or E=M*c(sq.),or M=E/c(sq.),or M=c(sq.)=E That is the Energy(the Brahma Energy)changes in to Matter (creation).
Om made up of the combination of the three sounds of a+u+m signifies the three powers in the form of all the activities supported by knowledge and science.
a=earth and the water elements(the elements of creation), u=the fire and the air elements(the vital breath), m=sky and the life elements(the soul).When we cross all these power centres and reach the Infinity (brain) to fuse ourselves into it, we have reached our final goal of breaking the six power Plexuses open.

This Shiv Ratri I observed a full Brata. Most people find it difficult to control their hunger.
But for me it seemed to be the most natural thing to do. I mean I didn't feel any pangs of hunger (unlike other days). Me and my friend talked about Shiva ji and religion the whole day.
In the night we enjoyed a good vegeterian meal with some good subsidery substance too. I felt an excellent surge of goodness in me the next day. I did feel drowsy or anything the next day (even with sleep deprivation.)

How do you say a = earth? u=fire and m=sky.
Are you trying to directly translate from Sanskrit? That may be the reason, but, I am not sure.
Anyway, good to read something different in Sajha.

I'll tell you the meaning.Om is om.The spelling of om is O....M.,and it is said o be the most powerful word in the whole universe i ve a fren his name is Om upreti...he lives in baneshwor..chor lai nabheteko pani thuprai bhayo..and near his place live a very famous singer...his name is...obiviously om..om bikram bita..good singer he is.So om is upreti..om is bista..om is sherpa..om is sunuwar..om ispariyar..om is koirala,so i guess you got the meaning of om.What is Om.Om is Om.

Logical Sense ji sorry for late response,i was kinda busy with my stuff.Actually as i have mention that from the theory of Albert Einsten we came to know that
E=engergy
M=matter
C=velocity of light
and in sanskrit it was defined
E=engergy(Om the brahma engergy)
M=matter(creation the universe,nature,matter)
C=velocity of light (the speed of light,the lustre of Brahmas)

Well, in my opinion "OM" is just a sound!
"OM" is like Greek's "Alpha" or "Omega" and nothing much.
Only difference is "OM" has a unique vibration that makes it great.
It is because of that rhythm andd vibration it has been used in meditation for thousands of years. For the same reason, if you do "OMMMMHHHHHMMMMMMM" for some repetiton, it seems to purify the inner atmosphere.
The right combination of this vibration with silence creates meditation itself.

"OM" the way of purifying ur heart conquering hatred, I guess. uprooting the evil tendencies with the sorrounding peace..Whenever u meditate, it helps to comprehend what u have gone throuhg, increases ur concentration. Makes us focuss on in our destination, no boundries, just the way of purifying our mind our heart.

Om is the primordial energy of all that exists, that has been and that will be. Everything came from Om, is Om, and will be Om again. Om is the creation, sustenance and destruction. Om is the ultimate physics, the most succinct expression of the law of Conservation of Energy. Om is the sound that is heard in the intergalactic space as well as in the intermolecular space. It is the unifying force of all fundamental forces of nature. Einstein's search for the Grand Unified Theory (GUT) is the search for Om. Om is the theory of everything (TOE).
Om is in fact AUM.
A - the first alphabet in Devanagari as well as in English. To say "A", you have to open your mouth. It symbolizes the process of creation. (BRAHMA)
U - To say "U" you neither close nor open your mouth. It is the process of sustenance. (VISHNU)
M- To say "M", you close your mouth. Destruction - the end of everything. (MAHESHWAR)
In Sanskrit, OM is not a word made up of some alphabets. It is both the alphabet and the word. It is THE word.
What was there before 39 seconds (or something like that) of the Big Bang? There was OM. What will be there after the Big Crunch? There will be OM.

The three qualities of nature like the good (satva), the passionate (raja), and the ignorant (tama) are also fused together equally to brahma in the process of creation,these three qualites of nature, which have been in the equilibrium, begin to burst open. In the word prakriti( nature), "pra" means the form of the light of Brahma and " kriti" means deed.Thus the meaning of burst open, a kind of vibration occurs.The very sound of that vibration is called "OM".

the meaning of the word OM goes this way:
it's made up of three letters: a,oo and m.
a is the first letter of the devnagari vowel structure, oo is the middle letter, and m is the last letter.
these three letters being the first, middle and last letters of the devnagari vowel strcuture(which is actually the Sanskrit language) symbolise the beginning, mid-phase and the ending of any matter in this entire universe. Indirectly the combinations of these three letters symbolise Brahma- the creator, the one who causes the life to begin, Vishnu the protector, the one who helps us live thorugh our life, and Shiva, the destroyer,the one who ends our life.
the word OM has nothing to do with earth, fire or sky........those definitions are the manipulations of the crooked mind.

AUM.. represents normal waking consciousness, in which subject and object exist as separate entities.
This is the level of mechanics, science, logical reason, the lower three chakras. Matter exists on a gross level, is stable and slow to change.
Then the sound "U" (pronounced as in "who") transfers the sense of vibration to the back of the mouth, and shifts the allegory to the level of dream consciousness. Here, object and subject become intertwined in awareness. Both are contained within us. Matter becomes subtle, more fluid, rapidly changing. This is the realm of dreams, divinities, imagination, the inner world.
"M" is the third element, humming with lips gently closed. This sound resonates forward in the mouth and buzzes throughout the head.
This sound represents the realm of deep, dreamless sleep. There is neither observing subject nor observed object. All are one, and nothing. Only pure consciousness exists, unseen, pristine,latent, covered with darkness.

When the process of creation began with the energy of Brahma,which was in its non-vibrating stable stage,its vibration activated the micro existing jointly in the positive and negative forms. From those molecules a positive energy (protonic energy) was produced.Due to the luminous quality of the engergy of Brahma , the motion or vibration became constant.The central pont of this axis is the nucleus known as Hiranyagrabha(the self-existent Brahma out of the golden egg.)As an antithesis to energy,election (negetive energy) was produced automatically and it began to rotate in a circular motion around the Hiranyagarbha.In order to maintain a balance between these plus and minus engergies, a neutral energy came out spontaneously. In a hydrogen atom, the neutral energy came out spontaneously. In a hydrogen atom, the natural energy (neutron) is in its eternal formless state. Scientists are of opinion that the nonqualitative formless energy existing in this neutral state of Brahma or the Universal Spirit.Proton electron and neutron are a+u+m (OM) respectively. The cosmic current or vibration of energy creates a sound without any break actively in a never-ending motion around the Hiranyagarbha or nucleus. This sound is called OM. The waves of this sound energy create abright circle or the circular aura.
P=proton ( positive energy)
e=electron ( negetive energy)
n=neutron (neutral energy)
the eternal form of neutron (n) in the atom of hydrogen (h) is non-qualitative and formless.
When the number of electrons goes on increasing in to it, different matters are formed.So the existence of molecules and atoms in every part and conscious matters proves the omnipresence of Brahma(OM).
