Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is no short of confidence right now and he is awaiting to carve the best bowling in the world to pieces when India start the super six campaign against Kenya later next week. He has piled up 5 fifties in six innings including the world class knock he played against Pakistan to send them packing when he made that superbly crafted 98 in only 68 balls, in this World Cup. The man who led the Indian charge was its jewel Sachin Tendulkar, who batted so sublimely that sporting divinities must have nodded in approval. The little master rates this fantastic knock as right there on the top of the best he has made. He has 35 one day centuries, the most by any player in the game and the highest number of runs in one-dayers. Those of you who witnessed a batting genius and legend in his best form will agree Tendulkar took one of the most fearsome bowling attacks to the cleaners against Pakistan. While others have failed in this World Cup, he has shined for India cruising them to Super Sixes when critics were running doubts about them reaching that stage when Australia thrashed them by a huge margin of 135 runs. From then onwards, they have been simply unstoppable. Credit to Sachin Tendulkar, who has played some fantastic cricket in this World Cup, without doubt, making him the best cricketer in the Cup so far. Winning against Pakistan for millions of Indians, their cricketers have won the World Cup, no matter who takes it home this month. That is how much this rivalry heats up and Teldulkar celebrated as God in India. He showed that when he teared Pakistan bowling apart single handedly with a magical knock that was eventually decisive and led to Pakistan out of the World Cup. Not to mention, Shoiab Akhtar got the treatment he deserved, rightly so. He was fast, but he wasn't accurate and on the length, thus he paid the price. He was torn apart by Tendulkar in his first over costing him 18 runs and from then on there was no way back for the fastest bowler in the world. He got the wicket of Tendulkar eventually but it was too late then. The little man had aready played one of the best knock of the World Cup. Tendulkar is Warne's "nightmare" as Warne says time and again whenver he is asked about Tendulkar. He has given equal treatment to every bowling in the world. So is the "Indian Icon" the best ever?

Krishna, U've been a constant resource for Cricket on Sajha. I used to play cricket and once played at the Central Park too, but I don't watch the game. But, I do have to hear constant discussion among my chums. Is Tendulkar really the best? I heard he scored 98 runs to lift India to impressive victory (over 274 target?) over Paks. Is he the best batsman there is right now? Had heard of Shane Warn(?), those Aussie brothers etc. But is Sachin the ultimate thing? Enlighten please, anybody.

Sachin Tendulkar is no doubt a class player. He has shown time and again why people respect him so much by playing a great batting knock as was the case in the match between India and Pakistan. What were the odds of India winning the match against such fierce bowling powerhouse? most people thought Indians didn't have what it took to win against such odds. However, with the help from the little master's brilliant and classic batting India did pull out a comfortable victory ofcourse we should not forget about those other batters in the line up who held up and supported Tendulkar. So is this proof enough to say that Sachin truly is the best ever??? Sir Donald Bradman himself spoke of Tendulkar as being the best ever and said that whenever he watched him play it reminded of himself playing. Tendulkar has a great one day record of 44.5 average runs with 34 centuries and only player to score over 10,000 ODI runs (12015 runs to be precise) so far, and not to forget his test record of 57.59 average runs with 31 centuries, which is simply brilliant. He is a versatile player and doesn't just bat but has a good bowling figures as well. I do think he is one of the best ever players in cricket where there are so many star players. His batting figures is the proof to say that Sachin Tendulkar is the best ever batsman. I would not say that only Tendulkar is the best ever because there are so many great players in International cricket that it is impossible to pick one out and say that a certain player is the greatest ever. Pizzah (note: the stat on sachins batting might be changed by now)
