Adrica,

A few strong programs for public health are:

Hopkins, Harvard, Univ of michigan, Columbia Univ, Emory Univ, Univ of NC, UC-Berkley, Tulane Univ, Univ of Washington.

For admission diff schools have diff criteria--Hopkins and harvard require that you have professional health degree such as MD, nursing or others as one of the prereqs for admission, but i also hear exceptional cases can be considered.

Generally good GPA in your undegrad, strong GRE scores and persuasive personal statment are the major selection criteria. Some programs require specific courses or major--for details you will have to look into the corresponding programs. Work experience and involvement in extracurriculum certainly carry significant weight.

Hope this helps--if you need additional info, please feel free to e-mail me.

I am just working on getting my sister admitted to Public Health field. The very first thing i would like to ask you is from where did you graduate?
Getting admission in Public Health is not the big deal. There are some universities they dont require GRE and there are few whose admission criteria is based on GRE score.

If you have any specific question just put it down here and i will try to provide you with the most generic and useful suggestion that i have come up with as till date.

My sis will be starting her studies from fall 2003, if you still want to apply for fall 2003 there are few universities they accept application till the end of this month.

Thanks and good luck
