Dear all, Nepal Telecommunication Corporation is going to change the existing numbering plan of telephone all over the country. In first phase the local dialing number will be changed from 5 digit number to 6 digit number outside Valley (and 6 digit to 7 digit in Kathmandu valley). This new numbering plan will be effective from 15th of March. To dial any number from anywhere one has to insert one more digit before the now existing local number. For Example: You are dialing to Pokhara (Kaski) to a local telephone number of 20555. You will have to dial as follows based on where you are calling from: Digit to be inserted: 5 Dialing From Existing dialing system After 15th march Local dialing 20555 5-20555 STD (Long distance) 061 20555 061-5-20555 International 00977 61 20555 00977-61-5-20555 List of digit to be inserted before local dialing number for different district is as follow: Phase I Effective from 15th March, 2003 . http://www.ntc.net.np/notices/ntc_new_numbering.htm |
