Hockey Rangers signed Oiler's best offensive player, Anson Carter for the final playoff push. After winning the Stanley cup in 1994 and missing playoffs about 6 times since then, Rangers are doing everything possible to goto the playoffs. Firing of the rookie coach and making the GM (Glen Sather) the head coach, spending tonns of cash on expensive players show how serious they are. Anson Carter might probably be the first black player in the blue shirt (do verify). 2 years ago we had the first Indian origin hockey player here, Manny Malhotra. One thing for sure, Rangers have a very thin chance of going to playoffs. But if they make it to playoff, they probably will continue till the finals; with arsenal of players like Bure, Kovalev, Carter, Leetch, Nedved, Holik, Messier, Kasparaitis they are like Yankees of Hockey, only not winning.
