Speaking of boybands, Rekha, how about "Back for good" by Take That. Nice lyrics By the way "Words" wasn't originally from BoyZone. I don't know the original writer but Bee Gees have sung it before, BoyZone members were even born.

You being in the education field are supposed to make sure those kids dont have access to that song, the one with the parental advisory stickers on it. But you guys have failed miserably, havent you? Well, dont get me wrong here, i dont like shady saying all these things either, but i guess in this country we have the freedom of speech dont we. Freedom that dont stop dumbasses singing about rap*ng their own mother. Dont blame me for anything, i just want the bitter truth out. of course when the Dixci chicks utilize their freedom of speech to express their opinion about the war-hungry president we have, they are unpatriotic, and simply wrong at having said that, that they had to freaking apolozige. think about it. OK Eminem8 ji: Sorry...I forgot to spell out the established (or so I assumed) premise....."on school property"..... outside of-- is beyond jurisdiction! And NO schools don't buy those CDs. But good points nevertheless. Surely, you will be prudent in letting your kids Not listen to such tagged commodities! :)

La ta....bell rings!!!! Gotta go! Enjoy listening! BTW Rapping is being used in creative writing, Literature and self-expression... It is another avenue to explore in education as undoubtedly memorization skills are needed to rap, in beat, rhythm and if one wants to accompany it with Greek-stepping....needs fine coordination! Happy Rapping!

Well well, there you go again. that was very much expected. Anything kids do outside the school is not your problem or concern, is it?It is simply out of your jurisdiction. And you tell me schools dont buy those CDs. Man.......... A kid gets beat up outside of the school by an older kid, there aint a damn thing you can do about it, is there? Simply freaking out of your jurisdiction. I know all about it lady, i grew up dealing with your kind. Everytime i go for help, it was simply out of the jurisdiction, they said......... WEll, lady, a kids life is not just inside the school compounds, is it now... so if you are unable to go beyond your line of duty to make sure an innocent kid doesnt hear Eminem, or doesnt get beat up outside school, dont pretend like you do care. Eminem8 ji Unfortunately, it IS the sad truth you speak! The education system policies and child's rights are tied up in such a way that going "beyond duty-call" can land you up in court. Last week a counselor friend of mine had to intervene and call social services because the kid was wasting. She was called to court to testify and it was there (in court) she found out that he has AIDS! The father knew it all along but had not taken him for necessary care. The child has been removed...now looking for foster family to take him in. But the county is short of fundings for childcare, foster care, protection and child-advocacy. Unfortunately, the first thing that goes in any budget cut is funding for kids...whether it is in extracurricular activities, peer mediation and or drug/alcohol workshops. I am extremely sorry you had a rough time growing up. The teenage years are difficult enough without having to defend against street attacks and/or bullying. My best wishes to you!

Well put Sitara. Your concern on the materials that the kids are exposed to shouldn't be taken lightly. Eminem8, I know you have contributed few intellectual materials in the site, so I cannot ignore your writings. Most of the youths that are jumping in this Hip-hop bandwagon are following it because it exemplifies the condition they are in or they have seen. They like the crude reality it depicts which is avoided by most other media. We are wired with that certain rebellion attitude that ignores the mainstream norm and doses on the bitter pill of naked truth. But, sometimes we do get carried away. You think what Marshal Mathews, and 50 cents for that matter, are saying is to bring out the truth? Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites, who very well know the present demand of showbiz. Even Eminem said that he writes the lyrics that should grab the attention of a bypasser who is just walking by a TV set. These lyricist forcibly put sentences in their work that provoke astonishment, often sacrificing the moral issues. 50 cents couldn't even hip-hop earlier until he got into the mainstream 'bad-boy' image and was encouraged by others to write. The rivalry that you often see in the Hip-hops, in the likes of Jay-Z and Nas, 50 cents and Ja-Rule and earlier Tu-Pac and Notorious BIG are often created for the show biz. May be the latter one was for real, or eventually became real and ended up with the lives of the talented artists. I am not saying the artists mentioned are not talented, but they are channelling their thoughts to a conscripted rhymes that youths so naively believe to be the only truth in the world. Few of them are real and most of them are painted. There are, however, few good ones who do try to channel the message to the public via Hip-hop. Like Nas, Grandmaster Flash, (Old School) and Public Enemy who wrote intelligent, revolutionary and socially outreaching lyrics. My point? Hip-hop can be less offensive and most of the time that you percieve as reality is not, its just a show piece. Sometimes crude reality should be depicted and in those times it is better to keep it away from the nascent generation, as Sitara said.

Eminem, You said, You being in the education field are supposed to make sure those kids dont have access to that song, the one with the parental advisory stickers on it. But you guys have failed miserably, havent you? --Sahja Eminem, first of all, how do you define a school, or an educational institution? Isnt this a place to gain knowledge, or to be taught valuable things in life!! What a teacher can do in utmost is edifying you by his lecture/oration regardless of your age, considering that youve a guardian at home to take care of off-school business; Teachers cant follow you to the Best Buy store where you can plainly buy a Eminems Show. What is a teachers liability? To give a lesson to his pupils not to listen violent, appalling, and unethical lyrics that can either influence wrecking your society or ruin your own life. And, yes, it is out of your jurisdiction of a school if a kid gets beaten up by other big kids outside of schools. If a teacher sees a student pulling out the gun inside school boundary, what he/she can do is call the law enforcement to defuse the possible violence. Personally, to me, Eminem is a truly good person at heart and his music is truthful. His music may contain violent lyrics, but that does not necessarily mean that he is about to go out and kill someone. Yes, he did get in trouble when he allegedly threatened an associate of a rival Detroit rap groups. However, he has learned from his mistakes. However, you have many valid points.

SMOOTH OPERATOR Words and Music: Sade Adu and St. John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He's laughing with another girl And playing with another heart. Placing high stakes, making hearts ache. He's loved in seven languages. Diamond nights and ruby lights, high in the sky. Heaven help him, when he falls. Diamond life, lover boy. We move in space with minimum waste and maximum joy. City lights and business nights. When you require streetcar desire for higher heights. No place for beginners or sensitive hearts When sentiment is left to chance. No place to be ending but somewhere to start. No need to ask. He's a smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator. Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male. Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale. Face to face, each classic case. We shadow box and double cross, Yet need the chase. A license to love, insurance to hold. Melts all your memories and change into gold. His eyes are like angels but his heart is cold. No need to ask. He's a smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator. Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male. Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale. Smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator...

Eminem8 ji: "Ma'am" ???? Nice! Do you really want to offend me? :( Prem charo ji: Eminem8 ji has raised very pertinent issues about kids in US; their home and school environment. I observe that having been a product of the US education system Eminem8 has an excellent perspective to the student's side of the story. Such perspectives should be taken into consideration when making education policies that affect the student body. DWI: Well expressed points there!

DWI, I read it, alright!! I agree with you most of the parts, but you have to try to look at it from thier perspective too, which is understandable in some cases, like Marshall and maybe some other too. How would you feel if you got beat up every day in school, and finally beat up so bad that he was in a comma. What if you werent accepted by the community you were in. And what if you come home and find your mom doing coke or in bed with any man. These things have to be considered, like Em said,' it provides fuel for the fire'. But on the other hand he has understood what sells, and its hate, its something that is beyond a mere folkfore, as much of a taboo as it can be. But all that he writes couldnt come out just because he wants to sell his album. Well, tell me, would you ever be able to come up with those kinds of lyrics even if you knew it would make you richer beyond imagination. Shady

I do agree, although I don't wanna envision any of the things you said. I just wanna stress the point that we shouldn't get carried away on beleiving everything they say. Most of the times they are influenced by record executives and they themselves are very prudent on production values. But no questioning the source of Eminem (& 50 cents, not Ja Rule) angst & words.
