(i'm an Amateur but I still gave it a shot..any comments are welcome=)
The screeching of the brakes woke me up. The sun was shining directly into my eyes; it took a while for me to get used to the light and see properly. Wow! I had slept for quite a while now. Maybe it was the warm weather that served as a natural blanket that made me so drowsy. We were at a gas station& mom was filling up the gas tank. I reached for the cooler behind me and grabbed a can of Pepsi. The cool sensation tingled my skin as I rested the can on my cheek. It was very hot today; definitely not the best choice to travel on a small 2-seater. School was over last week, and summer had begun. Mom owns a beach house along the shore that she loves to talk about, and thats where we are heading. She talks about it all the time. She says thats where she spent many of her teenage summers.
This was the first summer I get to spend with my mom after a long time. The last time we were together, I was nine years old and our family was still intact. That winter they got a divorce and dad had my custody. Dad died of a stroke 6 months ago and then mom took over; she now has my custody. Life at 15 is hard as it is, and plus the crisis of my dad did not make it easy. Mom knew that and thats why she wanted me to have a good time this summer. Things havent been smooth in the past with my mom but were both giving it one more shot. I was sipping on my soda when she came in and started the car. Not long now, only about 7 more miles , she said as if sensing my restlessness. We started along the road& and my eyes began to drop again.

well,
i would have prefered a can of coke over pepsi any day.
but other than that, thats pretty good writing, man.
a little lack of vulgarity for me, if you know what i mean.
All in all a good piece of literature man.

Liana, wake up sweetie! Were here!! I could barely hear my moms voice as I forced myself to open my eyes and tackle out of the car. But when I did get out and as my brain cleared up, I was speechless! The view was breathtaking! The sun was just about to set giving the horizon a warm orange glow and the water was glinting like precious diamonds; it was absolutely spectacular. The beach house was right in front of the waters and it looked welcoming and cozy. There were even canoes behind the summerhouse! I could sense that this was going to be a one-of-a-kind summer. I took my box out of the car and I strolled towards the house. As I was about to enter through the door, I looked back to soak the splendid view once again before it was gone.
I tried looking at the water more carefully this time and I could see a canoe heading towards the shore. As I adjusted with the light, I could see that there were two boys in it. One was young, about 9 years old; the other one was a teenager. Lianaaaa , mom was calling me from inside. I turned around and bounced back into the house with a weird feeling that I had never felt before.
