Tomorrow's Oscar is supposed to be 'toned-down', no glamors-glitters just award show and celebration. Few stars (Arnold) agree with the Academy decision while other think Americans deserve the entertainment, that the life should go on. Personally, I feel its a naive grin over the current war. No doubt, not much of our daily lives have changed since the war, but events like Oscar is observed by countries over seas too. They might take the event as a heartless sham, and rightfully so. The nation is directly involved in the war and not only the enemy but also its own fighters are dying, is Oscar so necessary that it couldn't be postponed. Every war brings a considerable disaster to human kind, are they so blinded by the glitter that they cannot spot the sensitivity envolved, the suffering of humanity. Events like olympic and other world cup celebration were postponed, how shameful is this perennial event? This celebration of "behind the enemy lines" is a sheer disrespect to the people behind the enemy lines. Is my outcry just exaggerated? Is it just me?
