Election Commission
Appeal to the Public, Mangsir 27, 2060

Re: Elections

This is to inform the public about the upcoming elections being held on Magh 23, 24 and 25, 2060. Long time after the declaration of cease-fire between the government and Communist Part of Nepal (Maoists), the three forcesthat includes the political partieshave come to an agreement that elections be held to decide the political future of the country. Election Commission has finished its homework and announces here the contestants, their election symbols, and some of the nationalist slogans they will be using during campaigns. To prevent mishaps, the election commission has decided to limit the slogans to the ones mentioned below; the EC reserves the right to expel any contestant from the election if any misbehavior is noticed (and of course, if no gun is noticed!).

Contestant 1: Monarchy
--If win, an absolute monarchy shall be established in the country and the monarch shall govern the country at his discretion.

Election Symbol: Yugal Jodi of Sri 5 Gyanendra and Minister Pun

Right to decide on every matter, including those related to the palace, shall lie on the Parliament. The National Assembly shall have no nominated parliamentarians.

Election Symbol: Futeko Gilaash (symbolizing the juttingcoming together; jhuttingtelling lies; futtingspliting; kuttingfighting in the parliament; and hootingshouting in the parliament nature of the parliamentarians)

Election Slogans:

1) Jantaa kaa tinwotaa maag chhan khaas
Gaas baas ra aash (hope)

2) Raastriya sahamati badhaawou
Ek patak maa tinwotaa pradhaanmantri banaawou

Contestant 3: CPN (Maoists)
--If win, a republic state shall be established. All property of the royal palace shall be nationalized. Other provisions shall remain as under constitutional monarchy system described above.

Election Symbol: Bharuwaa Banduk

Election Slogans:
1) Maanisha thulo goli le hunchha, boli le hudaina

Idea is not bad, except that monarchy is never elected (has it ever been? well autocracy has been.). But what an idea that would be.

I just didn't like the slogans for contestant 1. :)
