The executive board of Nepal chamber of Commerce has decided to honor Mr. Pralhad K.C. by presenting a Letter of Appreciation and award during the forthcoming 50th Annual General Meeting stated to be held on 2nd April, 2003, at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Boudha, Kathmandu.

Mr. K.C. was appointed as an Honorary Representative of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce to the USA on 11th April 2002, he has since, been involved with different promotional activities such as trade fairs and coordinating the Garment Association-Nepal and HMG delegation visit to the US to promote and obtain duty free status for Nepalese garments.

Mr. K.C.'s has been contributing to promoting Nepalese Handicrafts in the US market for over three decades. In addition, Mr. K.C. has been a very active member of the Greater Boston Nepali Community.

Congratulations Pralhad Dai.

Wonder how many Palms he greased to get that nomination ? Or rather wipe those assmarks he wiped off his lips. Duty free and Nepal would be like BAAANDAR Ko Haat Ma Nariwal. If one cannot handle Democracy how do you expect them to Handle Duty Free ?

Mr Kc contributing to Promoting? Or rather Milking that Cash Cow for Decades. It not like he is doing Nepal a big favor, he is going to be making $$$ off of it. Its pretty evident from all the Property he's owns in Greater Boston Area. Active in GBNC ? Didn't he boycott GBNC for yrs and tried to start his own Boston Nepali Community ?

Regardless Congratulations !!!

I saw an analysis of another person a while back in this thread. Now it is gone. What kind of forum is this? You dont want anyone to express what he or she thinks if it is not similar to yours. Web Admin should be shameful to do this. There were no bad words or anything except his/her personal observation.

Hi thapaktm,
I appreciate your concern regarding this, but I removed the posting since the person writing it sent me an email requesting me to remove it. I hope I don't have to be shameful about trying my best to assist the posters here.

I understand you are writing without knowing the facts, so no apologies needed.

Regards

Oh! What a coincidence!! Person who started the thread happens to be the Admin himself.
Anyways, if you received the request behind the scene, I dont have anything to say. But why should I believe that&.hmmm I will trust you this time. If you had written a sentence regarding that, I wouldnt have had any problem.

PEACE.....

By the way, the site is great and very informative. Keep it up.

I am pretty sure that they don't know the real inner face of him. He don't deserve that.
Damodar Posted on 26-Mar-03 12:55 PM

I did request my posting to be takn out to clarify ThapaKtm's point. Did not want Animocity with Mr Kc(regardless of his hypocrisy).

Here we go again typically Nepali leg pullings....

Mr. Damodar eka pokharel eka thapaktm, Do I smell jealousy here??

With all this going on the world, I am really fade-up and surprised to see people getting jealousy for someone else success. Can't we just be happy to see one of our fellow Nepali getting appreciate for his work? What does it have to do with Mr KC's hypocrisies here. I guess his hypocrisy is getting him awards back home and did here in USA. There must be something he is doing better than us that is why his work is being recognized. I don't see your Mr. Damodar eka pokharel eka thapaktm. What have you done for your community that you think that makes you expert to criticize him? Can we hear???
Off course you go out of your way to register on Sajha with different alias just to come here and vent. God bless you guys...

And, off course, CONGRATULATIONS to you Mr. KC. Keep up the good work.

Mr. KC , like ALL Nepalis everywhere, is a COMPLEX person.

The trouble with us Nepalis is that -- though we may like such complex characters
in works of fiction, movies and art -- we simply cannot handle and accept and live with such complexities in real life, complexities that actually make us and fellow human
beings very interesting and even intriguing to one another.

And so, what do we do?

Based on one or two examples (that we self-select to reinforce our own prejudices),
we reduce those people to one of the two simplistic polar opposites: Either they are good or they are bad.

And so, when we take such one-or-the-other extreme positions about other people, there is NO room for the middle ground, for compromise, for uncertainties, for ambiguities and for doubts or even working relationships.

If the person is good, he is good, good and good.
If the person is bad, he is bad, bad and bad.

And thus goes the USUAL tale of how most of us Nepalis -- in our raw, crude, reptilian and binary mode -- go about judging/classifying other people.

When will we learn that it's OK to talk to people we may not like?
That it's OK NOT to agree with everything a person does or says, but that it's still possible to maintain a working relationship with that person for common goals?

When will we learn that it's quite all right to celebrate the success of people who you may not like but you grant that they are good at what they do and that they get recognition based on NOT what kind of person they are, but what they have
achieved?

I think the sooner we all learn to accept that all of us are complex characters with our won set of strengths and weaknesses, the happier we all will be.

*********

I have worked with Prahlad KC in the past, and have enjoyed working with him,
despite disagreeing with him with reasons on some issues here and there. I must
say that he always took my disagreements in good strides, and that was as it should
be.

And so, I take pleasure in congratulating him on this additional recognition that he has been awarded in the country of his birth for the work he has done in the country of his adoption.

Way to go, indeed!!

(I'll probably see him at Hyatt anyway.)
