NASA Images Discover Ancient Bridge (Adam's Bridge) between India and Sri Lanka

http://www.rootsweb.com/~lkawgw/adamsbridge.html

Space images taken by NASA reveal a mysterious ancient bridge in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka. The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam´s Bridge is made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long.

The bridge´s unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 1,750,000 years ago and the bridge´s age is also almost equivalent.

This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in tredha yuga (more than 1,700,000 years ago).

In this epic, there is a mentioning about a bridge, which was built between Rameshwaram (India) and Srilankan coast under the supervision of a dynamic and invincible figure called Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme.

This information may not be of much importance to the archeologists who are interested in exploring the origins of man, but it is sure to open the spiritual gates of the people of the world to have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.

why call it adam's bridge? why not ram's bridge? is it because cristian culture is dominating?

mickthesick Posted on 30-Mar-03 02:39 PM

now come on.........didn't we know that there was a bridge made of stones connecting india and srilanka.......these people in NASA are too late in finding that out.....had they been studying ramayana they would have known that thousands of years ago......now that's what i like about technologgy........it finds out something that we already know exists!!

haha....i feel so humiliated by this NASA's crap.....and american dominance!

Thansk for bringing this thread. I thought this was the most exciting thing and expected lot of discussions and posting on this thread...But all guys seems to be more interested in replying how to get green card by marrying Americans....Sajha have lost its charm now...May be I'm the only one who feels like that..but there are no posting with real substance..no discussions...when I joined there was a big discussion on Gywali PHD..and it was so exciting to see superb postings ..but where are they now...each posting is lost after 2-3 replies...Any one feeling like me..???

If you are looking for a proof that Ramayana existed than this proof, will exite you. There are many historical proofs about "Ramayana" and "Mahabharata".

For many of us Ramayana and Mahabharata are not just epics they are the books of life. Many believe in it and many live in it. Personally, I have very profound respect for books like Mahabharata and Ramayana. They will be my favorite books when I retire, like most of our ancestors.

I am sorry to say that the NASA picture does not exite me. My feeling was "very intense bridge, it must have been very tough to build it"

kewl,

i'd ignore you, but i'd have to be part of the popular clique here. maybe if you kiss butt really hard and throw out superlatives such as "excellent/brilliant analysis!" left and right to those folks, you'll get some recognition. don't worry about those social darwinists (you know, the schoolyard "survival of the kewl-est")...you'll know 'em when you see 'em.

thanks for starting this thread. i wonder how that bridge looks, say, in relation to the giants causeway in ireland.

"where's that confounded bridge?"
