Change of Telephone Numbers from today 15th March 2003
Nepal Telecommunication Corporation has changed all the existing
Telephone Numbers in Nepal. This is said to enhance the services as
well as to accommodate new numbers.
To simplify, here is the solution for Calling to
Nepal:
After you dial the Country Code and the Area Code you have to dial
as follows:
Kathmandu Valley:
For all Kathmandu District Numbers : Add "4" before the old numbers
For all Lalitpur (Patan) District Numbers: Add "5" before the old
numbers
For all Bhaktapur District Numbers: Add "6" before the old numbers
For other Areas to simplify here is the guidance:
Add "4" after the area code for the following Districts:
Taplejung (024), Tehrathum (026), Bhojpur (029), Udayapur (035),
Khotang (036), Dolakha (049), Syanja (063), Gorkha (064), Manang
(066), Parwat (067), Mustang (069), Arghakhanchi (077), Bardia
(084), Dailekh (089), Pyuthan (086), Rolpa (086), Kalikot (087),
Mugu (087), Bajhang (092), Doti (094), Darchula (093), Dadeldhura

Add "5" after the area code for the following Districts:
