hi, Now that the maobadi team has arrived and today going to give their first public appearance in front of the journos, it is high time for us to discuss how this is to go. As citizens, we have been suffering from the the extremism of both the left and the right. The forthcoming dialogues will be crucial test for both the parties. We are at a new juncture in our history where new possibilities have to be carved out for democratizing our society and the test for both the parties is how much sincerely they both take up this agenda. The choices are not all rosy--there is strong chance that the democratization of our society and polity--may be halted. My sincere hope is that through an exercise of active citizenship--ot only blaming others for why things are wrong, but also trying to be proactive about better things to come--is one route for ensuring that that democratization process does not stop or will not be reversed. More than ever, the debates among us--sincere and open and, as far as possible, reasoned--is necessary. This debate has to occur at various levels. It is the citizens which shape what kind of democracy we have--not the black words of constitutions. With this, can we initiate some kind of proactive dialogue at this sajha com. ab
