Hello. A few years ago I and my dad visited Western Nepal(around Baitadi), and were surprised to have come across MANY Chettris and Thakuris who literally looked European, in fact many with light eyes and hair. Curiously though, the bahuns I encountered in that area were darker complected and more or less looked very typical. Can anybody explain this difference? Why is there this difference between bahuns and thakuris in that area? From what I know, I would have thought we would have similar backgrounds. Anybody have pictures of people in that area? If there are any history buffs or anthropologists in here, please clarify this anomaly. Thank you.
