Hi there, Sajha has been a great help for me whenever in need. Below is my question for all who clicks this thread. I am a Manufacturing Engineer and I work for a small company here in Minnesota. I have 2+ years of Experience (Intern + Job) in my field. As I was looking around, I realized that a place like San Francisco area would pay a lot better than what I am paid here. I did not mean just money but for growing in future, for weather, for Nepalese community, for food and for all: San Francisco seems a lot fancier as we all know that. I have been there 4/5 times and realize that living is expensive but you are paid good means a good trade off too. But, here in Minnesota, 6 months of snow, cheap pay, very less opportunity to learn and grow, and lots of reason is getting into my head. I am exactly on the same spot doing 10 hrs a day work! No chance I see to be paid high for a quite long if I do so. Friends, seeing hundreds of Manufacturing Engineering jobs there (around states now), what do you suggest me? I am kind of skeptical on the other side to apply because of my conservative thoughts! How will I move? Is it good to apply having a job here and spending 4 years in Minnesota? Will I have the job security that I seek after I decide to jump to silicon valley or such? Please, help me out. May be I am sharing my feeling on behalf of few more of us. I am eagerly waiting to hear my senior brothers and sisters ! Thank you and again, love this plateform to pour my feeling into words.

As far as I am concerned you are not as qualified or talented to get a high paid job. who told you yall get paid less in Minnesota than any other state. first point is, it does not matter which state you are in to get paid more or less. It depends upon the company or what kind of position you hold. I have a few friends in Minnesota who are manufacturing engineer and they get good salary. infact in Minnesota either you do a labor job or a professional job you get paid more than most of the other states. The only thing true about your statement is the weather but it is not a huge factor. By the way mentioning about not getting opportunity in Minnesota and trash talking about the nepali community is bullshit. Minnesota has a huge Nepali community and as for the job, who ever is working here professionally are satisfied with what they do and what they get. And...talking about job security, who in this world would know for how long you can secure your job for, in which ever state you are. what kind of question is that. So bro either you dont hold a good position in your job or there is something wrong with you.
