"Some day when or if I am gone, what are you going to miss in your life?" I remember Amie asking me as she moved her pawn a step further towards my bishop. "Ummm..nothing really!" I replied. It was followed by her faintly anger filled gaze that I often catalyze intentionally.I moved my bishop away from her pawn and towards my castle and said, " Just Joking!." "You know what makes you special to me?", I added before her anger got out of control. "What?"She moved her same pawn a step further. I could sense some trouble coming my way with her constantly approaching pawn. "I have always been mesmerized by two phenomenon; the prespective of human life that I learn when I talk to my seniors and the possibilities of the same life that I discover when I talk to my younger ones." I moved my castle and took out her pawn that had become a threat to my game. "And...how does that relate to me?" she asked. "Well, having said that all, you are the only person with whom I rediscover both the perspectives and possibilities of my life at the same time. I think I will miss that the most!" "So does that mean that it is all about you feeling better about yourself?" By now, we were already deep into the conversation and out of the game. I smiled and clarified myself. " Well, when I am with you, I realize how important my life is. Every time I see the joy and hope sparkling in your ocean blue eyes the moment we meet, I feel like I am worth more. That very moment alone, justifies every fractions of everysecond of my existence. I realize how close that frame of time is to perfection. Then I get that "stronger than ever"desire to make it last forever. I will miss wanting to try so hard for something." She blushed. I replied with yet another smile. Somehow smile always worked. It was a perfect way to express any kind of emotions. It seemed to work bestwhen I was confused. However, this time I smiled because I could feel divinity in the moment. This is how playing chess in that table in Starbucks had become our favortte hang out. We had achieved our almost utopian moments in that table. Unknowingly, we both stayed quiet and sipped our coffee while we were lost in our thoughts. "So what will you miss about me?" I broke the silence with a question. " I will miss getting used to feeling that this life is, in fact, a very beautiful life." Once again, she left me speechless! -Ben
