Serious answer: Do you have any other option? Can you get sponsored for H-1B and ultimately GC? Are you already illegal? Because so many Nepalis have gotten GC through asylum, people are using this as an easy crutch to get the residency status. However, I suggest that this should be an absolute last option (I don't want to judge you and say it shouldn't even be an option). First of all, there are risks with asylum, what if you are denied? Don't they get your fingerprints and all? Then you are forever in their account. Second, travel to and from Nepal will be tougher, but if you don't plan on going back then that's not a factor. Then there might be guilt and shame factor for some. THere's also a very small chance that US might retroactively review past cases and void/nullify the granted asylum. I don't think it has happened before but they certainly have nullified/voided GC obtained from fraudulent means. Consult your attorney and take the right decision after serious thought, don't do it thinking it is the easiest route.

 Kiddo what you mean fingerprints? Didn't they take my fingerprints already when I landed here. Had they wanted they would have deported already, don't you think? Will they deport me if I get rejected?

I don't think year really matters. If you have a strong case, they will provide you assylum.
