  Scholarships are available for new students pursuing masters in MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM for 2 academic years. Dollars for Scholars are automatic renewable as you fulfill GPA requirement. Scholarship recipients are eligible for in-state tuition fees for 2 academic years. UHCL is among few Universities that offers MIS program that falls in STEM category.  Consequently, if you are an international student, the MS/MIS graduate degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake qualifies you for 29 months of practical training period in the US.   MIS program is open to all undergraduate majors. The application deadline for spring semester is November 1.  The fee after scholarship is around $4000 for 9 master credits (that includes health insurance).

How about GA positions? How many are available? What are the likelihood? Scholarships for Masters Level sounds cheesy. Nonetheless it is always better than having nothing.

 It is available to international students.  I am posting it because i think this degree might be helpful for many students. I gratuated in business major as my undergraduate degree. However, i found hard to get job in USA. after business degree. In addition, many universities did not accept me in STEM major for graduate degree. Some did, but they have whole lot of pre-requisites. Management information degree (a STEM computer degree) in University of Houston Clear-Lake accepted me in masters with Dollars for Scholars scholarship. In addition, I was getting into the STEM major with 29 months OPT period. Hence, I took up this job to help many students who are in same situation.  Last edited: 16-Aug-13 04:35 PM

GA are created when new projects are initiated. In addition to graduate positions, there are numerous TA (Teachers Assistant), RA (Research Assistant), and on campus jobs. Also, you will pay in-state tuition fees for your classes if you get RA and TA positions. On campus jobs are available in your first semester, However, RA and TA positions are available only after 1st semester. Last edited: 16-Aug-13 04:38 PM

If you want to apply for Spring 2014, it's possible to get scholarship. These are the steps:   1. If you apply online now, you get student ID.   2.  Use that student I'd to apply DFS from sep 1-15.    3. Take date for GMAT at October. And submit to school.   4. Provide financial document during September.    Note: if you do not get scholarship for spring 2014, you can defer your application for fall 2014 with no cost.
