Hi, Currently, I am on a F2 status and want to change to F1 and start school in fall 2014. I have got the admission letter from the college but I got no assistant ship. I came to know that change of status can also be done via USCIS application. But I am being told it takes around six months to get the approval and am not sure about the circumstances if it gets rejected. I would be grateful to know about any experiences if anyone has tried changing the status via a USCIS application. Can we do a premium processing in this case? How long does it generally take to get the approval? Thanks
