Hello everyone, I am on H-1B (cap-exempt) which expires on August 9. I will be changing job and my new employer (cap-exempt) will file H-1B petition but my job start date is August 16. I was wondering if that will be an issue or not. I am hoping there is someone who has gone through this process and could give me some suggestion. Thank you in advance.

You will be fine. There is 60 day grace period as published here https://www.federalregister.go...

Thank you, maxpayne! I didn’t want to negotiate on starting date and wanted to make sure it won’t cause any problems in the future too. If anyone else has experience please kindly share. Thanks!
