Hello Guys, Need a help here! I am currently in TPS and just filed my family based green card last month. My question is since I filed for a green card do I still need to renew my tps since current EAD is only valid if you are going to renew your TPS or I can simply wait for the EAD from my green card . Would that make me out of status if I don’t renew my tps ? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

Just because you file for green card does not make you authorized to stay in US if you do not have other legal status until you receive your green card. You have not mentioned what type of family based green card you applied for. Some of them have a loooong waiting period (like 10-12 years for siblings) and you will have to remain in status until then. You should provide more information so we can help you.

This applies to me as well. The situation is as follows: I am in TPS status currently and married to a US citizen last year. I filed for change of status based on family member (spouse) of US citizen. The form I submitted are I -130, I - 485, I -131 and others. I went for bio-metrics couple of days ago. Now my question is, will I be out of status if I do not apply for TPS renewal? Or If I file for TPS renewal, is it gonna be issue to my change of status application? Sam has same situation like mine. Any idea/suggestion would be highly appreciated.
