Hi Asecret, Based on the info I was able to collect, no (depending on layover duration and whether you plan to get out of the airport). Details follow. I am also transiting through Dubai early next week, saw your post, and got scared (hadn't thought I needed a transit visa). In any case, Emirates was useless (they didn't pick up the phone) and some Dubaivisa guy (I think it's a private company) said I needed a visa as a Nepali national. The guy pointed me to a page where you can fill out the form. Apparently you can get an expedited approval in 48 hrs during working days. I had started filling out the form, but he said he can't guarantee that i will get it before my departure. BUT I called their Embassy and the person there said "if you are flying in and out with the same airline and have less than 8 hrs layover, you don't need a visa". I wish I had recorded the conversation, in case I need it at the airport! HTH.

BTW, No idea how your green card plays out in this, but I am sure any middle-eastern country treats US or "US-ish" nationals (smiles) better than Nepali nationals.

Thanks for the response YRK. Forgot to mention earlier but yeah I’m planning to get out of the airport during the transit as I’ve around 16 hours layover. If you’ll not be getting out of airport then you’ll not need any visa. As you mentioned Emirates was not very helpful but they forwarded me to a third party service to get the visa.
