hello everybody,, well i am asking for your help to let me know the possible ways to get a SSN. i am currently an international student and working. I have completed my first semester and transfered from different state. I am living in Boston and go to surrounding community college. Now there is no good paid jobs in Boston without SSN. is there any other way to get a SSN except from the college job filing application, as there is no jobs can be found in college? any help will be appreciated.

Tesko lagi timile college bata kaam paunu parcha. Arko chor bato malai chahi thaha chaina. You can transfer college where you can get job in college and then get that. Or try to do some volunteer work in college this can also help to make that...

Its not simple as Rinchen said. International student don't have other way to get SSN except On Campus job. Big cities like Boston , NYC has problem on getting SSN to student. so better to transfer to small and usefull cities for student, where you can get SSN and work without SSN too.

i agree!! it will b difficult for u to make SSN from community college and big cities as well. so better do transfer..

hello, americane...as u mentioned to work not using SSN...why did u say so? as everybody says there will be problems in the future and also while travelling outside USA and returning back..but one of my friends ,recently came back from Nepal and he works using his SSN...so i dont have how the SSN gonna affect in the future..As i dont have one right now, but i am thiking if i had one..i would definately be working using it for some better jobs..I dont have much idea on this..please can u clarify me on this... i would really thankful for this...

Hello Alchhi,If finding an on-campus job is so difficult, why don't you apply for work permit (stating Severe Economic Hardship).... with which you can apply for SSN. Or Wait patiently until you find on campus job. Or try to transfer from there. Guchcha Chor
