Lot of universities in the west provide ph.d in MIS.wht areas in MIS u r interested.If network security I would suggest you to try in Virginia Tech.

Thanks for your advice edipre. The main reason that I'm trying to make this switch from Computer Science to MIS is that I hate the hardcore techno stuffs that comes with CS. So, I'm more interested in the managerial aspects of MIS.

How about research on B2B commerce.Its good option and the job market is also good.Do u have any job experience in managerial side of IS? If not I would suggest u one. My interest is also MIS and now I am working in same field so that the Ph.d is more interesting.

As far as I know, GMU is the only University in VA that offers PhD in Security (related) field! Their syllabus didn't look too promising though... Also, @mankokura, even though they're not in the west coast -- you might want to look at the programs offered at Purdue and Notre Dame. ~@~

I won't be able to make it to DefCon.  But, sounds like you're heading down to Vegas next weekend. Do share stories if you happen to attend. The materials are usually out within a week or so, but listening to stories from DefCon-goers is a different fun! @man ko kura -- np! Good Luck on the grad-school hunt. ~@~
