These days, most of our "socializing" is done online. Hence, we can find many people sneaking a peek at Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites during their work hours. Oh wait, sneaking is actually old fashioned. These days people have smartphones, which buzz immediately if you receive a notification. Hence, at work, the boundaries between work life and personal life is slowly becoming blurred. What is more suprising is that this phenomenon does not stop at work. For some people, it is almost as if all they want to do at home is use social networking sites in a relaxed manner, without having to speak. So, while work time may be reserved for gmail chats,  tweets, and checking out pictures on Facebook; home life is reserved for a more expanded version of the same. The expanded version includes audio and visual chat in a relaxed manner. And this expanded version may start in bed - which is certainly more relaxed than an office chair, and may even end in the bed. The scary thing about spending so much time online is that this is most likely not going to change. Being in touch with everyone at all times is addictive, and for the generation that grew up with it, a communication device is a lifeline. Is real life falling by the wayside in favor of virtual life?
