Kudos to KING Gyanendra!!!! Finally King played his trump card...Sacking Deuba government second time in 2 years and declaring state of emergency in the present context of crisis were not big news in itself!!!!! The big news We nepali wanted to hear about is the caputure of maoist supremos PRACHANDA?BABURAM...Now King should show the world about these captured maoists leaders and let nepali people decide what to do to them...I can't beleive that these maoists leaders are caught within 24 hours of royal proclaimation of self-rule!!! This indiactes that KING can bring peace & maintain peace and order in the country..If parties/people support him, definitely Nepal will see prosperous days in near future!
The funny thing I see is that many people feel that simply a capture of Baburam and Prachanda will halt the Maoist movement.
What I have read from the journals of journalists interviewing average Maoist fighters, their local commanders and the regional commanders is that these Maoists who are doing the actual fighting on the ground doesnt seem to care much about Prachanda and Baburam. They have been openly dismissing directives from Prachanda and Baburam a very long time ago. At this point I strongly believe the Maoist is controlled much from local and regional level.
Well, they have replaced thier dead or captured leaders at various levels so many times over the years of fighting.
Isnt it very probable they will replace Baburam and Prachanda with someone else if they were ever captured and keep on fighting ?

Well, if you have done more reseach of evolution of Maoists (when it was still taking shape before 1996) you will definately find that Mohan Baidhya (a.k.a Kiran) was the one to sketch and conceive the blueprint of entire Maoist movement. To add to that fact Prachanda always went to Mohan Baidhya to seek advise on the matters of Communist idealogy therefore regarded Mohan Baidhya to some sort of guru status.
Mohan Baidhya was arrested in India about one one and half years ago in Darjeeling district of West Bangal state of India and is currently in Jail in West Bengal state of India.
Now you have to decide who is the brainchild of Maoist movement and why the Maoist have not weekened significantly.
