Hello All, I am confused with one question and asking for a help. Currently, I am in H1B status and in TPS as well, and applying I-485 for permanent residency based on employment. There is one question in I-485 form, ‘ Have you ever applied for any kind of relief or Protection from removal, exclusion, or deportation?’ What would be an answer for this question? Can somebody suggest me?

I would say your lawyer would be the best person to answer this. Many people here might give their opinion based on their understanding but that is going to do you no good for your application because the risk of being incorrect is too high. These forms and questions in these forms change sporadically and a person's experience from 2 years ago might not be valid anymore even though they are trying to genuinely help.

The answer is No, if you were not in some kind of removal, exclusion, or deportation proceedings. TPS is a blanket over your current status, H1B still takes the precedence. If something happens to H1B, it comes into play. Even then as long as your TPS is valid, you wont be placed in any kind of removal proceedings. I had the same situation and I used a lawyer.
