on't know what is up with GBNC thesedays. Nothing is being organized. The last new years party they did was a big flop - obviously since it was done nearly a month late - they probably got disheartened and don't want to organize anything anymore.
GBNC, which used to be a thriving organization which held timely gatherings and fun events seems to be pretty much dead. People are gradually begining to lose interest in this defunct organization. What is the reason for this? In my opinion it is mainly due to lack of initiative or interest shown by the active GBNC Council Members. Once someone agrees to take a position in a public body like GBNC they need to organize events and involve the community. But it seems like everyone in the council are too busy to do what they are supposed to do which is organize events and bring the community together.
Is being a council member merely for getting a line item in the resume? If not, then where is your participation? What are you doing? If you guys don't have time or energy or interest in becoming position holders in this organization, then you should not hold that position in the first place.
If there is noone who is interested in organizing events for the community then let GBNC die out. There is no point in keeping a defunct organization alive. But, if there are elected or appointed council members then they need to start doing something. Every year GBNC is getting worse and worse. If this lazyness and lact of initiatives continues to be shown by GBNC council then noone's gonna give a rats ass.
When someone asks questions of GBNC there needs to be someone who gives answers to the general public. But it seems like all the GBNC council members are busy polishing up their resumes instead of doing what they are supposed to do.

truly this it's not the GBNC consil member but us the complaniers
cos I'm sure they have organized many events this year but seemed like no one showed up I'm sure you didn't show up either coz you felt like "pailako pali ta kay bore bhako thiyo" "feri kaatti mahangochha $20/person.."

ey all,
I lived in Boston long time and I liked the GBNC. The reason is they have organized so many different activities. We all should be proud what they did now and past years. Nowadays without paying anything nobody willing to do do anything. So GBNC President and as well as Counsil member, they haven't got any paid. This is just their extra event organizing. they r just willing to help whenever they have a time. and we should be proud of their hard working and time and effort to have such a organiging event.

Ringo keti, the fact is that they knew they weren't getting paid when they got into the council. They cannot say they're busy all the time and not organize anything because when they accepted the position they accepted they would do their duties. Everyone would be proud of their hard working and time and effort if in fact they did any hard work or put any effort or time. If you look at the history of GBNC this is probably the most inactive council to date. They have organized 2 events so far which is pretty disappointing. I heard they organized a networking event also but you really can't call that a community event, it's more of a select group thing. Most of the nepali community in Boston are not 9 to 5 office workers and cannot benefit from this kind of events. I wonder if anyone has personally benefitted from that program so far. My point is, our community needs more social programs. After GBNC has established itself as the community organization, it can branch off its activities into selective special interest groups. But for now. Where is the voice of GBNC? The community that you seek to represent is awaiting your response here.
