Hey guys,
I am in a big trouble. I am  currently in the f2 status. I want to switch it to f1. My classes are starting from the middle of May. Hereby is my question:
If I apply for my f1 from Mexico and in case if my f1 is denied can I come back to the US with my existing f2 visa? I would really appreciated your help
.

Nope, you cannot come back to US. I have many of my frens changing visa going to mexico, none of them had problem, so I guess you'll not have that problem too.

But, rather then Mexico, canada can be a good option. It's safe than mexico and beautiful for vacation too.

Good Luck!

you can try to change your status from within the US also. just apply for a change of status to F1 through your college international center and ask if they can use the premium processing. I am not sure if you can use premium processing for change of status; if you can you just go ahead and pay $1000 extra and apply.

hope this helps. good luck.

Yea, As HappyFace said, you could do that too, but it usually take around 2-4 months, while if you go out to mexico, it happens immediately, if approved !
