Hello Phiste,
Thanks for your kind comment. Like you said, I am new to this field, It's been only 15 months now I have been using DSLR. My first DSLR was D60 and now I am using D90. This is my interest besides my profession. So trying to learn day by day.

It will be great help if you comment or give me any your insight or idea about subject matter so that I could learn more. It seems like you are an expert in this field, otherwise it's hard to comment on the subject matter. And you said you walked through my gallery too. Would you mind to comment where should I sharpen my knowledge?

Looking for your suggestion. Thanks for visiting again.

Happy New Year 2067 to all Nepali.

I went over your blog. Its good stuff there. I am a newbie on photography as well and i feel we have many things in common. I had D40 for about 6 months, and sold it after my trip to Nepal. I got a D90 now with 18-250 lens. I am a CS student as well. As i can see some pictures showing DC, i guess you are living somewhere around here. I was thinking about, we could meet up and go out for a shoot together. How about that?

I know we all are frustrated like you. We are also concerned about our country. Like you said, political leader only concern about themselves. Now I was about to say exactly what you said when I heard they officially declared that constitution will not be drafted by Jestha 14.

GOD SAVE NEPAL.

you need to learn how to and what to pose. and the balance weight of your subjects's weight. Things like come in/out, rhythm, lines and stuffs like that. These things are necessary for a composition. I didn't see any rhythm in the pictures.

 But any your picture awesome.

Photography is all about, "Being in the right place at the right time" (If you like taking picture of nature) and you need a lot of luck as well (Sounds strange but it's true... I have been taking picture for a while and trust me there are times I have missed really nice shots)

If you like taking picture of "People" ... It's all about composition.

By the way, did you use any software to enhance your pics? They look beautiful but the color kind of look fake... Just curious... Nothing wrong with enhancing the picture though

(Some of the pictures I have taken, if you wanna check them out)

I use Canon D20 and I never worry about what setting it's on.... It's always on auto and I am happy with the results so far...

Hello Gorkhali4982,
You are right to some extent. Taking snaps of nature depends up on your timing. When and where do you reach with your camera. I have also missed lots of shot as I can't carry this camera everywhere. But sometime like during sunset, you have to know how to adjust the setting for proper exposure of your subject and your background.

I don't enjoy shooting portrait much. Like you said, auto is best for portrait ( almost 80%) unless you are shooting in challenging condition. I saw your albums. They are pretty nice and some of them are shaky may be because of camera shake. Anyway we are here to learn more and more.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Regards,
UM3$H

Umesh, good work. I have to agree with Gorkhali4982 here. Technicals are all good
but unless you are in right place at right time your skills are useless. I dont know who was that but some famous photographer said "F/8 and be there". Anybody can gain
skills by some practice but being there will differentiate your from rest of the crowd.
I dont know much about portraits but in my limited experience lighting is everything for
portraits. And by auto if you mean auto mode then no point in using dslr. To get correct
skin tones you need to shoot raw under neutral settings and adjust colour in PP. No
camera in this world can give you perfect colour but your creativity can get you close.
Sorry to be lecturing but just had to say. :).
BTW my photo album is flickr.com/divdude007
cheers.

divdude,
It was great walking through your album. I never had so extensive collection of species. After viewing your album, I completely agree with the fact that be there at right time is very important.

Anyway keep sharing information which is the best way to learn also. I hope I will update some of my work soon.

Regards,
Umesh
