.also why is there a trend of dancing in hindi music during college programs..what happened to good ol' nepali music?

I guess Slumdog Millionaire has indianized many things. One of my profs attended a party and he kept his beard for 2 months ( to look like a sardar) and also worn a pagari for a bollywood theme party. There are lots of them around now.

We Nepalese are very proud to have India as our neighboring country. Thats why we always like to listen, watch, talk in hindi. No matter where we go, if we see any indian we will talk with them in hindi and try to prove them that we are a good neighbor.

Common we should stop doing these kind of things.

I also don't know why nepali girls don't wanna listen nepali songs. It just make me sick.I am not saying hindi songs are bad but as far as know we souldn't forget who we are right?. I know what indians think about Nepal. let me give you example. In my office we have people from all around the world.once when we were having a party in a hotel, one of my colleagure(who is turkish) asked me about the Mt.Everest and i was answering his question. Suddenly a Indian guy interrupt me with no reason and said that Mt.Everest is in the border of India and Nepal. Well, I don't want to defend that answer coz I can't teach fool people who pretend to be intelligent. Have you guys ever think why every neighbouring country are kind of enemy of India. Well We didn't hate the india they compelled us to do so. I don't know why they are so proud and why they always wants to interfere with others business. Well I have studied and have worked with indian. Everytime I talk with them I don't feel good.

I don't know why nepalese woman love ot see those kusum or kutum or whatever kind of shit things. In reality, those who acted in those serials are bithes and whores. Only director knows how many time he f**ked the kusum to get that role. and Those Indian Idol is really a Indian Idiot show specially the judges who looked like funny to me.

Of course she should dance in nepali song in such formal program, but she has not done such vicious crime.

First thing we should remember Priyanka karki not just another girl. She won miss teen nepal and she has some responsibility towards the country. Thats the reason why she have been awarded the crown of teen Nepal. Again proves this beauty contest are nothing but waste of money and time. An ugly farce.

We hate the Indians from everything...you name it...but still do not think twice to watch their movies and listen to their songs. Had it been in Nepali, people being ignorant of the consequences of depending on their entertainment so heavily, I would say it is fine. But it a shame to see even the educated futures of your country those who have landed in the US do the same, sad sad sad. It is probably International Festival Day(Alabama)...and you're dancing to an Indian tune. You have no problem with that?
There is nothing wrong listening to Hindi music some other time, but NOT to represent our country. I cannot tell how WRONG you are, please our humble request to you that if you do want to dance to Hindi tune, you should go with the Indian team. Better loose one Nepali to India that loose the whole dignity and the identity of our country.
Boy, the pride and the hope of my identity is barely hanging there. Each incidents back home and some idiotic situation like these, is weighing heavier each and every year. Lights are fading.
This is coming from a guy who has not watch Hindi movie or listened to a Indian tune for more than a decade.

The dance wasn't good, the video wasn't good and the song wasn't good either.

None of us here know why she danced in that song. I mean it could be that an Indian club at her school might have organized the program and asked her to dance in a Hindi song. I have seen Indians dancing in Nepali songs at the dances of my Nepali friends in their schools.

It's another thing that we are a big consumer of Indian products - ranging from Dabur Chwanprash to serials to Indian idols to movies to remixes to Sanskar, and Astha and virtually everything, and almost every age group. I mean a significant portion of the world might be - including the NYtimes website management. Many here also are, or someone in our immediate family are - but who gives a rat's ass to the "ground reality" when we have a girl that we can rave against and show that we care about our country.

Let me tell you all one thing  Priyanka Karki is half Indian. She is as much Indian as she is Nepali.

Her dance was superb; I watched Madhuri's dance, and she performed very well. 

We've nothing to say when maos sold our country to india, n' now girija, oli and may be gyane're giving better deals to sell Nepal. We get outrageous when this girl danced but have nothing to worry when our foreign minister makes the statement "there's no dispute of borders with india" while papers print the news of indian encroachment.

you should have made things clear before you post. It's human nature to assume if there is no information. If it was NOT an international day, then it is nobody business. In that case, Sorry. But if it was indeed a time to represent our country, no matter what even if she's half indian, she should not be allowed to represent Nepal with a Hindi song. Period. If she likes her Indian side, then so be it-she can represent india, again nobody bloody business.
