Friends,

I am using this space for making a personal announcement that is very much a part of my Sajha life and which my well-wisher Sajha mates have been inquiring for several months already.

Well, my mini-novel Chaytna Nasakeko Chithiis finally published and a website dedicated to promote it is up and running.

I have a long list of Sajhaites to thank. First and foremost, Echoes for an excellent web design and Shree for valuable guidance to web-illiterate person like me. Gokul-jee for a wonderful preface for the book which, let me give a preview, starts with the story of how it all started right here in Sajha some years ago.

I am donating the proceeds from the book to Help Nepal Network. And I have to thank Shirish for making that possible and helping me out in too many things.

I am also grateful to anonymous Sajha artists and models for their precious cooperation during my initial search for a design for the book.

Then all initial readers of the story for their encouragement and following up inquiries regarding its publication.

So, basically, in Sajha had my book it's birth pang and it would not have seen this day without Sajha.

I have been telling to all that Sajha has been a rewarding experience for me. This book is a living proof among many others I can produce.

Actually my initial choice was - "A letter that could not be torn up".

Then a friend of mine edited it to "A letter untorn".

I thought it's cute and does justice to the essence of Nepali title which implies some quandary.

"An untearable letter" would imply higher virtues which does not go with the story it has.

In any case, it was meant for a rough translation. Thank you for bringing it up.

The bulk of the book is being shipped from Massachusetts. I won't be able to sign them.

कुरै कुराँ नेपे दाजीको सिको अरेर मैले नि "डिलिट नै नभाको ईमेल" भन्नी लेख्न पर्ला भन्नी पुनि मनाँ सुर गरेको छु, चईनी आफू पुनि सानोतिनो कम्फुटारको झाँक्री बिद्या पढ्दैछु केरे, तेसो भ'र ।

तर जे होस्, अहिले सम्मन त मैले मेसो भाँती जो पाएकै छैन, तेसो भएर केही पनि नबोलिकन बसेको के । भन्नी बेलाँ च्यात्न नसकेको भन्नी, गर्नी बेलाँ झन उपद्रो सित छाप्दै बाँड्दै अर्नी, के हैच कुन्तो, अझै जो रनभुल्लाँ जो छु केरे ।

कथाबस्तुको गहिराई संग लेखाई तराईमा बग्ने नदी जस्तो लाग्छ सललल......
कतै कतै गा-हा शब्दहरुको प्रयोग देखिन्छ (म जस्ता साधारण शब्दका ग्यान भएकालाई) । यो शायद लेखकको नियन्त्रण बाहिरको कुरा प-यो किनकी उनको लेखाईको स्तर नै उच्च छ । यस्तो लेखकीय शक्ति भा’को मान्छेले सत्र साल सम्म के के लेखे होलान् भन्ने प्रश्न ऊठाउनु पनि प्राक्रितिक नै होला ।

कथाका कुनै कुनै धटनाहरु पक्कै लेखकको जीबनमा घटेका हुनु पर्छ (मेरो अनुमानमा)।

यो मानसिक यूध्दको कथाका पात्रहरु मध्ये सबैभन्दा जितेका दीपक खड्का हुन् !
