Friends, I am using this space for making a personal announcement that is very much a part of my Sajha life and which my well-wisher Sajha mates have been inquiring for several months already. Well, my mini-novel Chaytna Nasakeko Chithiis finally published and a website dedicated to promote it is up and running. - http://www.dkhadka.com/chithi I have a long list of Sajhaites to thank. First and foremost, Echoes for an excellent web design and Shree for valuable guidance to web-illiterate person like me. Gokul-jee for a wonderful preface for the book which, let me give a preview, starts with the story of how it all started right here in Sajha some years ago. I am donating the proceeds from the book to Help Nepal Network. And I have to thank Shirish for making that possible and helping me out in too many things. I am also grateful to anonymous Sajha artists and models for their precious cooperation during my initial search for a design for the book. Then all initial readers of the story for their encouragement and following up inquiries regarding its publication. So, basically, in Sajha had my book it's birth pang and it would not have seen this day without Sajha. I have been telling to all that Sajha has been a rewarding experience for me. This book is a living proof among many others I can produce. Thank you Sajha mates ! Thank you Sajha ! Nepe - http://www.dkhadka.com/chithi

As usual, enjoyed Ghalib Nepe guru, and your analysis of contemporary Nepalese politics too. Thank you.

(I came to know that वाइज = Preacher) पर इतना जानते हैँ कल वो जाता था के हम निकले

Nepe Dai, it’s a genius question, however, it’s completely theoretical. Buddha was not a man of theory; neither am I. To answer your question let’s imagine a thought experiment: Let’s imagine that you and your buddies went to explore an unexplored part of the Amazon jungle. One night you had a great calibration in your camp; obsessed with alcohol, all of you decided to go for exploration. Unconsciously you all happened to enter an extremely huge cave and fall asleep somewhere in the middle of it. Next day when you woke up, it was all dark. You guys started to wonder around fearfully to get the outlet. Days have passed without any success. One day, you claimed that you found the way out. You explained to them how you found it. You went straight in one direction counting your steps until you stroke to the end. Then you made 1800 turn and count back the steps until you reached the point you have started and continued until you reached the end. Then you came back to the original point. This time you turned 900 at origin and explored the perpendicular direction. You repeated the procedure and mapped the cave. Suddenly you found feeble light. You followed that feeble light which leaded you to the entrance. You were now overjoyed. You could have come out yourself and enjoyed your life but you were not selfish. Out of compassion you went back to the cave to save your friends. You told them: “Random walking would not lead you to the entrance. Random walk is the cause the cause of suffering. Stop random walking! Follow me I found the way out!” Some of your friends were wise and they understood you. They trusted you because the way you explained them sounded convincing to them and they decided to follow you. Some were not that wise but they trusted you because they knew you as a trustworthy person and they also decided to follow you. Contd...

However, the rest couldn’t understand you well. They said “Walking is walking dude no matter whether it is random or unidirectional! You walked in one direction and we walked in many direction. What’s your point? If walking leads to the entrance we could also have found the entrance. If walking doesn’t lead to the entrance you also haven’t found the entrance.†You couldn’t convince them the difference between random walking and unidirectional walking because they were very form on their logic. I made up this story to clarify things. You are a scientist and very intellectual person; I respect you. However, in this situation, your logic is the same as those of third type of random walkers. Your logic: if enlightenment comes from abandoning desires, desire for enlightenment is also a desire and Buddha was not enlightened because he had desire for enlightenment. We have many desires and he had one desire. What is his point? Sounds same as: If entrance can be reached by abandoning walk, you shouldn’t also have reached the entrance because you also have walked. We walked in many directions but you walked in one direction. What is your point?†See how wisely you have discovered the entrance. See, how logically you have explained how you discovered the entrance. See, how scientific is the way of your discovery. But, people can not understand, they hold few words like "walk" and never try the right thing as you are holding the word Desire and turing your back to sublime teaching of Buddha. In very true sense your question has very deep meaning. It sounds misleading but it is not. You are a scientist; you should explore the entire field of Buddha’s teaching; before abandoning it. You should have explored it and found out the meaning and reason of abandoning worldly desires. You didn’t do that, you hold one sentence which sounded illogical to you and abandon the path. This is more illogical instead. You didn't do justice with the sublime teaching. Since your question is very deep, I have to write more on this. I have to connect the sentence you are holding to its roots to give it an identity. On this course I may write my understanding of Buddha’s teaching in your language, ie, the language of science :). Finally I will end my postings by writing review on your book.
