On the episode aired on September 15, 2007, during the first round of songs; Prashant misses the opening beat of his song and he mumbles the few words unclearly. He quickly recovers and sings rest of the song well. All of the judges except Udit Narayan sharply comment Prashant for making a mistake at this stage of finale. Javed Akhtar (commercial Urdu poet who writes Bollywood songs) says he would like to cheer Prashant with "once more" as long as he sings the song correctly.
Both the contestants sing well in the second round especially Amit. The other contestant gets the standing ovation from judges who claim him to be " the next Indian Idol". Alisa Chennoi goes as far as saying that she is voting for the other contestant. No judge shall support or promote any contestant as a part of rules of any fair contest. The third song shall be the deciding song as for the very first time both the singers will sing the same song. The other contestant completely misses opening beat and simply hums the opening five lines of the song. He sings rest of the song flat and cannot recover at all. By convention, a performer is supposed to finish the song, who is then judged by the judges followed by the succeeding performer. However, seeing his co-performer's restlessness Prashant comes to the stage and helps him singing few lines. As the other contestant does not recover even after that, Prashant sings the song (he is supposed to sing the song after the judge's verdict) and somehow maintains the poise of the program. After he finishes the song, Javed Akhtar says that the other contestant missing out a whole stanza equates Prashant missing a few words in the opening round. Alisa Chenoy too gives similar comments displaying vividly that she niether want to crticize the other contestant nor applaud Prashant. Before Udit Narayan even finishes his comment, the female host quickly says that Udit Narayan has forgiven both. Anu Mallik, however tries to raise the issue of biasness but the host interrupts him saying the time is for commercial break. After the commercial break, Anu Mallik continues saying that the other contestant has made a blunder misktake with a bad singing and that the judges should not show partiality. Anu Mallik raises very valid question as apparent in previous episodes of INDIAN IDOL too that despite of singing good Prashant didn't receive much of the adulations and appreciations from the judges. It has been seemingly tough for the judges to admit that Prashant Tamang is talent singer? The whole event described here can be viewed in Indian Idol site This reflects a valid concern whether the organizers will go with the POPULAR CHOICE or interfere the contest with their biasness and discriminations. Additionally, when the results are out, it will have to be seen that whether SONY will support thier poster boy Amit Paul or Prashant Tamang, who clearly, if only popular votes are concerned, will be the II3.
Just a suggestion to Iswor12 ji can you change the name of the thread... it is very popular so can you give other name like "Sajha United for Prashant Tamang" .... Just a suggestion ... u rock bro

What in the world is this? Are you guys insane? By spending so much $$ to vote for Prashant, you’re making Sony TV even richer ( Voting window open for the whole week = more $$ for Sony). Rather spend that money in some good cause (flood victim, education for poor kids etc). It doesn’t matter if Prashant loses the contest coming week. In many ways, he is already the winner. Moreover, he has proved that he can sing and he already has a tremendous future ahead as a singer (not to mention the offers he is already getting). Being a Nepalese origin, he is the first to get to the final round of that contest. He has well represented all Nepalese around the world. What else do you expect from him?
Yes you r right A\X, I didn't get a chance to donate for the flood victims, cause I donated all my extra (but hard earned) money to the poor kids for their education.
Please guys let's not argue here... atleast we are showing some unity.... we are known for pulling ppl down... atleast here we want good for a nepali guy who is doin smthing for nepal ... rocks and Prashant is doint that rt now ....
Torikophul, Sometimes people enjoy doing something. This is an entertainment. And if we get pleasure out of making Prashant a winner we should do that. Ofcourse we do have to donate to flood victims or other. But you can't say this is not a worthy effort. we do spend $10-20 dollars for nothing everyday . why not use that to help this good singer rise
My point is not against Prashant. I wish him good luck and hope he wins the title too (he has already won it atleast for me). What I'm saying is that, he has already acomplished if not more than what he would acomplish as an Indian Idol. I also know everybody has the right to spend their money the way they want to. All I'm asking (requesting) you people is to spend that sms money in some other good causes. Honestly, don't you agree this is all Sony's scam to make more money. Prashant Rocks!!
