Hey all,
Do a Permanent US Resident needs a transit visa while travelling through UK to Ktm? The travel agency says they don't need a visa at UK, but one of my relative said that she had to go through a lot of hassle while going through London as they wouldn't let her stay without a transit visa. She ended up re-routing her flight via another airlines.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

As far as i am concerned if you are in transit do not need visa but you surely need visa if you go out from the airport. I have been in UK in transit from Netherland in last two weeks back nobody would asked me visa.

no. last year i spent 4 hours at Heathrow without any problem. as long as you are a valid student or a card holder/resident of US or Canada, they don't require you to produce a transit visa.

If you have the valid visa for US and ticket to Nepal then you don't need visa.

Definetly, visa needed to go to U.K.Unless you are U.S.A. Citizen otherwise you must produce visa upon arrival. Therefore get a visa; it is easy, cheaper and fast.

London has been difficult since the Bomb attack last year. When I was traveling to Germany I had to go through London Heathrew airport, went through hell when I was going home. They see difficult names besides Tom, Dick or bla bla and they think you are terrorist. It is better to be safe and consult with the embassy before traveling. Good Luck Mr Feb 14..
