Hi folks;
Please give me the honest opinion. I hope guys input can be a good advice for me. I have been working in us for around 1.5 yrs in IT ie. in j2ee technology and now i am just feeling bored. During this time i got married and had child recently too here in us. I see lot of indian and other people work in this sector for 10 yrs or 15 yrs and now i am kind of bored already :) . Well the point i am trying to make is i did my bachelor in electronics and telecomm. and here I did master in computer science. Now i am thinking of going back to school probably enroll in M.S. in ECE and join phd immediately. But then this aid can't be guaranteed right and hopefully for tuition i might have to work outside. But late scenero is just scaring me like college finding student working outside and taking away there student status etc. I am just really confused. Other thing is i haven't made my GC still . So, what u guys suggest first give still more 1-2 yrs for work and finish GC stuff and do latter or just better finish the studies(as honestly this is the choice i want to follow) now matter what happen in the future.I asked a lot of this to other people even guys who r doing phd and they don't just suggest to do study ...but i am kinda bit confuse. I hope some of them are in my situation. So , i really need honest advice folks. Hope to get response onto it.

Get the GC first, bro. Nothing is more important than GC if you want to stay in the US. You have a family to take care of as well. It seems like you have already pursued your Masters so there is no reason to jump into PhD right away by sacrificing your job and GC opportunity. You do not want to ruin your chance of getting GC just because you are bored with your job. Who is not bored with his/her job? If I was in your position, I would not think twice to work on to get the GC first. Good luck!!

I too would say GC first.

1. Who told u, u cant do a Part time PhD in H1 too??? What is so uncertain?

2. Why the job is bored? Who told J2EE is a joke? Man clear ur vision rather than asking doubts.

3. Finally, Everything is Crisp and Solid. For me a GC or a PhD both are Fake. Why?
Answer: I give preference to Time and Vision within the perimeter of my priority. You can earn whatever, if you can cohesively couple both of them towards your horizon!!!

I guess you have to choose between being an academician or a professional.

If you want to be an academician and a professor, go, join PHD in some A+ University. Remember, there is no use doing a PHD from a average University. Its better if you dont do.

Else if you like the software industry and like being a professional, then be creative and dont just get stuck to coding like Indians do. May be you are interested in business of your own, or outsourcing or project management or an architect.

So be clear about what is the job that would make you happy. I am into J2EE too, and I just looooove it.
