That’s interesting, because I live a block away from a Walgreens that’s open 24/7, and when I go there at 2 or 3 a.m., I usually see U.S. citizens working — mostly white, if that matters to the argument. So maybe the idea that only immigrants are willing to work night shifts isn’t as solid as it sounds.
Also, not sure when we decided that Americans are completely incapable of taking tough shifts. Plenty still do — maybe not by choice, but because rent doesn’t care about your schedule.
