 What is the earliest day to renew tourist visa before it expires??

Hello every,
Does anyone know when one can renew the tourist visa. Like my parents visa will be expiring March 2021. I want to bring them here but I want to renew their visa first. I just want to know when is the earliest they can apply for renewal like is it 3 months prior their current visa expire or something like that.

Normally I heard you should renew if it's expiring in less than 6 months.
If it expired within last 12 months, you don't have to visit embassy for interview,just fill up the interview waiver online and submit docs to the nearest bank
