Here is the situation.
I have my H1B approved from a consulting firm. But I do not have the recipt or the I797 with me, they have them.
I am on OPT and my OPT expires sometime in Sept., right now I am working for a company on my field of study. They are now willing to sponsor me. What would be the best move for me.
Transfer H1B from dhoti to this company before october?
Apply for another H1B thru' this company? Can I ?
How about extending my OPT for I fall under STEM? Any helpful suggestions or similar situation ideas welcome.

Try for a H1b Transfer before Oct, Which is Possible if u can generate couple of paystubs from Dhoti consultancy. If he is unwilling to do the Transfe,ask him to revoke ur H1 from that employer and file a new Petition ASAP.
Best Thing to do is to talk to immigration lawyer as soon as possile as we r no immign attoney, just giving u suggestions..

Better to apply new one ASAP rather than fighting with so called company. Once approve new one and discard the old one.

Seems strange but one of my friend applied for OPT stem extension (was under stem), got denied and became out of status right from the day he applied for extension.It may be a rare case but this was the thing that i have seen..BTW his company was e-Verified.

Everest12 is right but bear in mind u simply can't discard the H1b , it has to be revoked.BTW, heard that consultants give the same receipt no to all the people these days without filing the case.Double check with ur consultant and make sure that ur H1b is approved.He/She is liable to give u the Approval notice(if infact it is approved).
