Hi,

I want to start investing in small bulk, so i am thinking about opening a brokerage account. I need some suggestion regading, which is the better options available out there. Any experience user who has some good suggestions for beginners like me? Also some strategy followed by you guys would help as stepping stone to begin.

Don't fall into the trap of trying to time the stock market unless you are doing it on somebody else's fund.

 Thanks Howardroark for the suggestion, i am actually trying to do close to what you suggest, i am not trying to time the stock market and be active trader, rather i am trying to build a portfolio with bonds, index funds and stocks, so i wanted to know how to approach that and what vehicle, like e-trade or scottrade to pursue.

I use Vanguard for index funds and bonds, and etrade for stocks (if any).
